   Un port franc est un port où il est libre à tous marchands, de quelque nation qu’ils soient, de décharger leurs marchandises, et d’où ils peuvent les retirer, lorsqu’ils ne les ont pu vendre, sans payer aucun droit d’entrée ni de sortie.

   A free port is a port where all merchants, from whichever country, are free to unload their commodities, and from which they can withdraw their commodities when they have lost a sale, without paying any tax for their entry or exit.
