En prenant une moyenne sur un plus long espace de tem[p]s, et depuis 1726 à la révolution, l on n’a pour l’année commune que 400,000 marcs d’argent, et 17500 marcs d’or, ce qui réduit la fabrication à 34 millions et demi environ par année. La grande activité de la Monnoie [Monnaie] dans l’espace de tem[p]s indiqué par Mr. Necker tenoit [tenait] donc probablement à quelque cause accidentelle, et peut-être à l’adoption de quelque faux système d’économie politique par les Ministres d’alors.

(6) This amount is the average of the productions of 15 years, since 1761 inclusive until the end of 1777. By taking an average for a longer period, namely since 1726 until the revolution, we have for a normal year only 400,000 silver marc coin, and 17500 gold marc coins, a calculation which shows the production to be about 34.5 million a year (Garnier, note 32). Therefore, the important activity of the Mint during the period referred to by Mr. Necker was related probably with some accidental cause and perhaps with the adoption of some false system of political economy by the ministers of the day.
