D’après ces deux maximes nous trouverons, que le commerce de l’Inde est aussi bien que tout autre, avantageux aux nations Européennes, lorsqu’elles sont mûres pour le faire; c’est-à-dire, lorsque leurs capitaux ayant rempli les premières voies de la circulation, cherchent au dehors un nouvel emploi, un profit mercantile et un revenu, qu’ils ne pourraient plus obtenir dans le marché intérieur.

According to these two maxims, we will find that trade with India is as advantageous to European nations as any other branch of trade, when the nations are mature enough to carry it out; that is, when their capitals, having filled the first channels of circulation, search abroad for a new employment, a mercantile profit, and revenue, which they could not find in their home markets.
