   Si au contraire le profit du commerce d’intérieur diminué, le revenu augmente; car le consommateur national épargne tout le surplus que gagnait, non-seulement le marchand national, mais encore le marchand étranger qui pourvoyait en partie à sa consommation.

[Translation]

   If on the contrary the profit of commerce at home falls, the revenue increases. The consumer at home saves the whole surplus gained not only by the merchant at home but also the foreign merchant who provided in part for the consumer.
